The Faculty of Pharmacy, which was previously part of FIPIA (currently FMIPA), was founded in 1969 under the name of the Department of Pharmacy, then changed to a faculty in 2006 and at the same time became the 11th faculty at the University of North Sumatra. FF USU is the only state educational institution in the field of pharmacy in North Sumatra Province with 5 study programs consisting of Diploma III Pharmacy and Food Analyst (D-III Anafarma), Bachelor of Pharmacy (PSSF), Pharmacist Education Professional Education (PSPA), Masters Pharmaceutical Sciences (PSMIF) and Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PSDIF). The five study programs have been accredited by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Health Higher Education (LAM-PTKes). FF USU is also supported by qualified and competent lecturers and education staff in their fields as well as facilities and infrastructure available in very adequate quantity and quality, also supported by sophisticated laboratories and equipment. USU FF graduates have the opportunity to work in various fields including industry (food, beverage, cosmetic, and medicine); community services (pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, health centers, forensics and health laboratories); government institutions (BPOM health service, BNN and other institutions related to pharmacy); educators, researchers, and entrepreneurs in the health sector.
